What is a Motorcoach Tour?

Many people are not aware of what a well-planned motorcoach tour can offer. Scenic America Tours owns its own fleet of brand new luxury motorcoaches which are equipped with clean restrooms, reclining plush seats with moveable arm and footrests, DVD and VCR with flat screen monitors, CD and AM & FM stereo, enclosed overhead parcel bins for storage, large tinted touring windows for excellent visibility, overhead reading lights and adjustable air vents. Our itineraries offer a variety of interesting and exciting destinations and attractions, great food, and nicely appointed accommodations. While traveling sit back relax, read a good book or chat with your friends, family or new acquaintances and let our knowledgeable driver and escort take care of all the arrangements as they keep you informed and prepared for the excitement ahead. Why Book Early?

Making long range plans can be difficult; however, by making your reservations early on the tours you are interested in helps to guarantee your reservation(s) to be confirmed. Many hotels, theatres as well as some attractions required full payment as early as six months in advance of the tour's departure date. If we have few or no bookings, we are forced to rescind our contracts or loose our deposits leaving us no choice but to cancel the tour. This is very disappointing to both our travelers and our staff who strives to offer a value-packed memorable tour. Remember, the earlier our travelers make their reservations, the more likely the tour will go.

Scenic America Loves Groups! Is your club or organization planning a one-day or multiple-day outing? If so, we can customize a special tour, arrange one from our tour schedule or if your group is smaller you can always join in on one of our scheduled tours. Either way, call our knowledgeable group tour department today and enjoy the savings and fun of traveling together.

A Note About Tipping.

Gratuities are included in our tour pricing for all necessary inclusions such as, hotel personnel to include but not limited to bellmen, restaurant wait staff, step-on guides and local guide services.

However, gratuities for the driver and escort are NOT included. Scenic America feels like this should be at the discretion of the traveler and based on the level of service provided by the individuals.

How much to tip? Is a good question and our industry doesn't have a standard, for example, like the restaurant industry. However, according to the Consumer Reports Travel Letter, for both domestic and international tours, gratuities generally range from $2 to $8 per person, per day for a tour escort or director and $1 to $5 per person, per day for the driver. Or, according to the CNN/Money, The Emily Post Institutes "Itty Bitty Guide to Tipping" and tipping.org, for a one-day trip for both escort(guide) or driver 10%-20% of the cost of the tour and for extended trips $1-$10 per day.
